A WIDOWER is auctioning over 50 items in a charity auction to raise money for MND Association, a charity linked to his wife who died over five years ago.
Bill Taylor said:
“Eileen had Motor Neurone Disease and was cared for by St John’s Hospice during the last few days of her life. Their care meant that she was able to die with dignity. Since losing Eileen I have been fundraising for various charities including MNDA and the hospice.
“Like all charities, the MND Association has suffered because of the current pandemic and I thought this was a way of helping,” added Bill.
1818 Auctioneer’s Bill Nelson says Bill Taylor is a much-loved figure in the auction room and has amassed quite a collection of items over the year.
Bill Nelson said:
“We’re delighted to be holding this one-off fundraiser for Bill’s chosen charity. There are 53 lots in total, with many unusual tribal and African pieces. From palaver chairs, a large standing ethnic wood-carved head, to a selection of early 20th-century tea caddies, spears and walking canes.”
During the November Covid-19 lockdown, 1818 Auctioneers are still running their online timed auctions. Although viewing is not currently permitted, the firm is offering delivery and a click and collect service from their saleroom near Milnthorpe.
The auction is now live and closes at 6pm this Sunday (22nd November).
