Naturally, we are taking every possible precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and our customers. Please have a read of the following advice:
Our auctions are moving online for the immediate future.
The option of online bidding is available for all of our auctions so that you can bid from home. Commission bidding is available through this website and live bidding is available via the Saleroom: www.the-saleroom.com
If you have a question about one or more lots and cannot attend the saleroom, please don’t hesitate to ask for our assistance. Condition reports can be requested for via our online catalogues.
Viewings in the saleroom will continue unless we are otherwise directed by Government policy. We are closely following Public Health England and Government guidelines. To reduce the number of people in the saleroom at once we are now offering viewings on Thursday (10am-4pm), on Friday (10am-4pm), on Saturday (10am – 1pm), and on the mornings of the auction (from 8.30am).
We recommend that all clients attending 1818 Auctioneers regularly use the handwashing facilities provided. In particular, before entering the office or the café.
Please pay for lots via contactless, card or bank transfer to help us minimise cash handling for our staff.
Please pre-arrange collection so that we can have your items ready for you to pop in the car – helping you and our staff to follow the social distancing guidance.
We advise anyone who is considered to be in the “at risk” category i.e. the elderly and anyone with an underlying medical condition to avoid attending the salerooms.
Please do not attend the saleroom if you are feeling at all unwell, have a cough or a high temperature.
Home visits by our valuers are currently limited to safeguard our staff, our customers and the wider community against the spread of the virus. We are continuing to receive items for sale, please use the appointments system as usual.
We’ll continue to keep you updated via social media and this website. Please be sensible and stay safe as we care about your welfare.
Thank you,
Bill and team
