The 1818 Auctioneers team and community are saying a very fond farewell to Ewan Duff, who has been heading up our Art department since he arrived in 2023.
Ewan grew up surrounded by antiques and has a specific love for Fine Art. He continued this love beyond his school years and read Art History at the University of Aberdeen, where he obtained a Master’s degree.
We are very lucky to have had Ewan on our team. He brought his love of art to our auction house, transforming the Paintings, Artworks, and Imagery auction with its Affordable Art section. Cataloguing artwork from all eras (including his favoured Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite periods), Ewan has lifted the auction and created a vibrant sale that buyers and sellers alike appreciate.
As Ewan moves closer to home, we wish him well. To express our gratitude for his professionalism and friendship, we are inviting donations to a cause that Ewan champions. Following the loss of his partner, Rachel, in 2023, he has raised awareness of and funds for Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP). If you can, please donate to SUDEP.
