“Charles Horner’s jewellery is synonymous with the Arts & Crafts and Art Nouveau periods. Many items were produced and sold during the early 20th Century through affluent stores, including Liberty.

“The jewellery mainly consisted of pendants, hatpins, earrings, and brooches, most of which had distinctive iridescent blue and green enamelled decoration set in silver and taking naturally designed organic forms.

“Despite the mass-produced nature of the jewellery, each piece was consistently of a high standard. Because of this, they have stood the test of time, with many pieces passed down through generations as precious family heirlooms. Pieces are still as popular in the 21st century as when they were produced 100 years ago.

“Charles Horner’s jewellery is still much sought after when offered at our Antique and Vintage Jewellery and Watches auctions. It is usually keenly bid for by avid collectors or jewellery enthusiasts who appreciate Horner’s workmanship and wearable designs, which are an everlasting tribute to their period.”
